Detailed ItineraryMorning – Pickup from Your Cairo or Giza Hotel Your private Egyptologist and driver will meet you at your hotel in Cairo or Giza. Begin your journey toward the Giza Plateau. Your guide will introduce you to the history of ancient Memphis, Giza and the pharaohs of Egypt's Old Kingdom before you begin exploring the monuments.
Giza Pyramids Discover the Last Surviving Wonder of the Ancient World Arrive at the Giza Plateau, one of the most recognizable archaeological landscapes on Earth. The plateau is home to three principal pyramids: • Great Pyramid of Khufu • Pyramid of Khafre • Pyramid of Menkaure Together, these monuments represent the extraordinary architectural achievements of Egypt's Old Kingdom.
Great Pyramid of Khufu The Largest Pyramid in Egypt Begin with the magnificent Great Pyramid of Khufu, also known as Cheops. Built during Egypt's 4th Dynasty, the Great Pyramid was constructed as the monumental tomb of Pharaoh Khufu. For thousands of years, it was regarded as the tallest human-made structure in the world. Your Egyptologist will explain: • Who Pharaoh Khufu was • Why the pyramid was constructed • How ancient Egyptians organized such a massive building project • The importance of pyramid complexes • Ancient Egyptian beliefs about death and the afterlife • The role of the pyramid in royal funerary traditions You will have time to admire the enormous limestone blocks and capture photographs from different viewpoints. Optional Pyramid Entrance If you wish to enter one of the pyramids, entrance tickets can be arranged as an optional addition, subject to availability and current ticketing rules. Your guide can explain which pyramid is best suited to your interests.
Pyramid of Khafre The Pyramid with the Remaining Casing Stones Continue to the Pyramid of Khafre, the second-largest pyramid at Giza. Khafre's pyramid is particularly recognizable because some of its original smooth limestone casing remains near the top. Your guide will explain the relationship between Khafre's pyramid, the surrounding temples and the Great Sphinx. From selected viewpoints, you can also enjoy one of the most famous panoramic views of lopment of pyramid construction during the Old Kingdom and how each royal pyramid formed part of a larger funerary complex.
Giza Plateau Panoramic View Stop at a panoramic viewpoint where you can see the pyramids rising from the desert landscape. This is one of the best locations for photographs of: • Khufu's Pyramid • Khafre's Pyramid • Menkaure's Pyramid • The surrounding Giza Plateau Your guide can assist with photographs and recommend the best viewpoints depending on the season and sunlight.
Great Sphinx Meet the Mysterious Guardian of Giza Continue to the Great Sphinx, one of the world's most famous ancient monuments. The enormous monument combines the body of a lion with a human head and is traditionally associated with royal power and protection. Your Egyptologist will explain the different theories surrounding the Sphinx and its relationship with the Pyramid of Khafre. Learn about: • The symbolism of the lion • The royal human head • The Sphinx's relationship with the Giza complex • Ancient Egyptian ideas of protection • The history of restoration and preservation The Sphinx viewing area also provides excellent opportunities for photographs.
Valley Temple Discover the Ancient Ceremonial Complex Depending on site access and the selected entrance, continue to the area associated with the Valley Temple of Khafre. The temple formed an important part of the pyramid complex and was connected with the ancient funerary rituals performed for the pharaoh. Your Egyptologist will explain how the pyramid, valley temple, causeway and funerary temple worked together as one enormous architectural complex.
Optional Egyptian Lunch After your Giza sightseeing, enjoy an optional lunch at a local restaurant. Choose from traditional Egyptian and oriental cuisine, international dishes or vegetarian options. Your guide can recommend a restaurant according to your preferences.
Grand Egyptian Museum Enter the World of Ancient Egyptian Treasures After lunch, continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, located close to the Giza Plateau. The museum represents one of the most important cultural attractions in modern Egypt and provides a spectacular setting for exploring the country's ancient heritage. The museum's galleries present artifacts from thousands of years of Egyptian civilization.
Discover Ancient Egyptian Civilization Inside the museum, your Egyptologist will guide you through the collections and explain the stories behind important artifacts. Explore objects connected with: • Ancient Egyptian pharaohs • Gods and goddesses • Royal families • Funerary traditions • Ancient Egyptian daily life • Religion • Writing and hieroglyphs • Sculpture • Jewelry • Royal monuments Rather than simply viewing individual objects, your guide will connect them to the larger story of Egyptian civilization.
King Tutankhamun Discover the Treasures of the Young Pharaoh One of the most anticipated aspects of the Grand Egyptian Museum experience is its connection with the treasures of King Tutankhamun. Tutankhamun became pharaoh during the 18th Dynasty and is one of the most famous rulers of ancient Egypt. His tomb was discovered in the Valley of the Kings in 1922 by Howard Carter. The extraordinary collection associated with Tutankhamun provides an insight into the wealth, craftsmanship and beliefs of Egypt's New Kingdom royal elite. Your guide will explain the story of Tutankhamun, his reign, his tomb and the significance of his treasures.
Ancient Egyptian Art & Culture As you continue through the museum, discover the artistic achievements of ancient Egyptian civilization. Look for: • Monumental statues • Stone reliefs • Royal portraits • Jewelry • Ceremonial objects • Funerary artifacts • Religious objects • Everyday objects Your Egyptologist will explain how ancient Egyptian artists used symbols, proportions, colors and hieroglyphs to communicate religious and historical ideas.
Egyptian History Through the Ages The museum experience allows you to place the monuments you saw at Giza within the broader story of Egypt. Your guide can explain the major periods of Egyptian history, including: Old Kingdom The age of the great pyramids and powerful pharaohs such as Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. Middle Kingdom A period known for political consolidation, literature, artistic development and major architectural achievements. New Kingdom The period of powerful rulers such as Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Akhenaten, Tutankhamun and Ramesses II. Later Periods Egypt continued to develop under Persian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic and later modern influences.

Before You Travel to Egypt

A quick checklist for a smoother arrival and more comfortable sightseeing.

Choose the season that suits you

October to April is usually more comfortable for long sightseeing days. Summer can be very hot, especially in Luxor and Aswan, so plan lighter schedules, shade and water breaks.

Check entry rules before you fly

Visa eligibility depends on your passport and can change. Confirm your requirements through Egypt’s official e-Visa portal or the nearest Egyptian embassy before travel.

Carry Egyptian Pounds

Cards are useful at many hotels and larger businesses, but small EGP notes are practical for tips, small purchases and everyday services.

Use sealed bottled water

Drink sealed bottled water and keep extra water with you during sightseeing, particularly on warm days and longer excursions.

Dress for heat and local customs

Light, breathable clothing, comfortable shoes, sun protection and a light layer are useful. Modest clothing is respectful at mosques, churches and traditional communities.

Know when to bargain

Friendly bargaining is common in bazaars and souks. Prices in fixed-price shops, hotels, restaurants and official ticket offices are generally not negotiated.

Check Egypt’s official e-Visa portal

Why Choose This Tour?

Combine Giza Pyramids with the Grand Egyptian Museum This combination creates a complete introduction to ancient Egypt. At Giza → you experience the monuments themselves — the enormous pyramids, temples and Sphinx. At the Grand Egyptian Museum → you discover the people, culture, religion and objects behind the civilization that created those monuments. Together → the two experiences provide a much deeper understanding of ancient Egypt. Instead of simply seeing the pyramids, you will learn why they were built, how they were connected to ancient Egyptian beliefs and what they reveal about the society that created them.
